Follow the Sun - Part II

As promised I have posted my sun piece now that it is finished in a multi media composition. This is certainly something that is new for me and it took quite a bit of time for me to finally come up with something that I'm pleased with. The background board went through quite a variation of colors before I finally came up with the final color. It's funny how you can visualize something...but when it comes to the application, it's doesn't always come out the way you think. I certainly need to explore this avenue a bit more. So, it will be interesting to see how I evolve in this area and you can watch as it happens.

Expanding My Horizons

It's my goal to keep the glass thing fresh and continually growing to a new level. I was inspired to create something entirely different (for me) when I saw this knot hole. My initial response to it was to make an orchid appear as though it were growing from it as you would maybe see in nature. I really like the outcome. After I figured out the engineering aspect of putting the two differents medias together it was actually easier than I thought it would be.

Follow the Sun!

I'm starting a new venture into multi-media art. My true passion (medium) is glass, but I really want to take it to the next step. So, here is the first step to my next multi-media piece and I'll be sure to show you the finished product...be sure to check back. This was made with borosilicate glass, off mandrel and with just one color. That's truly the beauty of boro glass...you can get such a variation with the colors.
